In order to ensure the strength and good adhesion of corrugated cardboard, the formation of corrugated cardboard should be adjusted according to the different configurations of the corrugated cardboard production line.

1. The corrugated forming is most ideal when the moisture content of the corrugated base paper entering the single-sided machine is controlled between 9% and 12%. When the moisture content of the corrugated base paper is higher than the above index, the solution can be increased by increasing the preheating area or reducing the speed; when the moisture content of the corrugated base paper is lower than the above index, the solution can be sprayed. The author believes that when the single-sided corrugated cardboard is in a positive shape on the overpass conveyor belt through rapid paper feeding and the stacking distance is consistent, the moisture content of the base paper and the corrugated base paper is adjusted better, and the moisture content is more appropriate. The number of single-sided corrugated cardboard piled on the overpass should not be too much, but in order to ensure that the double-sided machine does not stop, the number of single-sided corrugated cardboard piled on the overpass can be appropriately increased when the single-sided machine changes paper.

2. The temperature of the dryer has a great influence on the moisture content of the corrugated cardboard. The heating section of the corrugated board production line usually consists of three groups (or four groups). The number of heating plates is determined by the size of the heating plates and the speed of the corrugated board production line, and each group is equipped with an independent control valve. In order to ensure that the moisture content of the single-faced corrugated board before entering the dryer is basically the same, the preheating area of ​​the single-faced corrugated board on the triple preheater can be adjusted. The adjustment method is: when the moisture content is too high, the preheating area is increased; when the moisture content is too low, the preheating area is reduced.

3. Since the production process of corrugated board takes away a lot of heat, part of the saturated steam will become condensed water in the preheater and corrugated roller, which can usually be discharged through the steam trap. To ensure the normal discharge of condensed water, the author recommends opening the bypass pipe valve in front of the steam trap for 3 minutes to 5 minutes every 4 hours to ensure the relative stability of the temperature. Control the amount of glue applied. Corn starch adhesive is usually used to make corrugated board. Its main ingredients are: corn starch, water, sodium hydroxide and borax. Due to the different configurations and speeds of corrugated board production lines, the viscosity, concentration and gelatinization temperature of the prepared adhesive are also different. With the amount of glue applied, the water content of the corrugated board also changes. When the amount of glue applied is large, the water content of the corrugated board is large, and vice versa. For single-sided machines and double-sided machines, the gap between the glue roller and the limit glue roller is generally 0.2mm~0.25mm; the gap between the corrugated roller and the glue roller of the single-sided machine is generally 0.1mm~0.2mm; the gap between the double-sided machine pressure roller (touch pressure rod) and the glue roller should be slightly lower than the height of the single-sided corrugated board by 0.05mm~0.1mm. The above gap can be measured with a feeler gauge, but the two rollers should be parallel.

With the change of temperature and relative humidity (summer and winter), the amount of glue applied is also less. The reason is that the viscosity of the adhesive becomes thinner in summer. The concentration can be adjusted by appropriately increasing the solid content and using corrugated base paper with high ring pressure index and poor moisture absorption; the fluidity of the adhesive is poor in winter. The temperature of the adhesive can be increased to ensure that the adhesive has good fluidity. In addition to the above factors that affect the strength of corrugated board, the operator's sense of responsibility and technical level should be strengthened, so that each operator can observe carefully, adjust carefully, and operate strictly according to the process requirements, so as to produce high-quality corrugated board.
